Ermin Hamidovic
What a cool episode this one was! Ermin Hamidovic is a Melbourne based recording, mixing and mastering engineer. His recent credits include Periphery, Devin Townsend Project, Sikth, Aviators and more. He is also the Author of The Systematic Mixing Guide.
He is a very articulate and particular engineer whose passion, dedication and long hours have brought him to the place he is today. It was a very informative and educational discussion we had. despite it being a super hot day in Melbourne and without functional air conditioning, Ermin stuck it out with me for an hour and a half, imparting his wise and thorough audio wisdom, covering such topics as saturation, stereo buss compression, monitoring, room acoustics, and interestingly, the slow and sometimes non-linear path to mastery, and how he built his career, starting with doing a re-master of Obzen by Meshuggah.
