Iver Sandøy
Hailing from Bergen, Iver is a Norwegian Producer, Mixing and Mastering engineer, working both out of Duper studio and his own Solslottet studio. He is perhaps best known for producing and engineering the last 3 Enslaved albums. If you aren’t familiar with Enslaved, they are one of the early wave of Norwegian Black or “Viking” metal bands who have evolved to be a genre-defying, creative, progressive group.
Iver has be a significant part of capturing their magic and we discuss his approach to recording live in the studio and the energy and vibe that it brings through to the end product. I find this approach super exciting and the results speak for themselves.
We also discussed the mixing of Enslaved’s live album, drum tuning, his origins as a musician, Mastering and more.

This is also a very cool video showing the recording process of Enslaved’s latest album “E”
